A day club for people with dementia has received a £1,000 donation from Warminster Lions Club to help improve access for members.
The money will go towards a ramp upgrade at The Old Silk Works Day Club in Warminster, operated by Wiltshire charity Beyond Dementia. The contribution forms part of the charity’s ongoing fundraising efforts to enhance accessibility for current and future members.
Following the breakdown of the club’s external lift earlier this year, the new ramp will ensure that everyone, regardless of mobility, can access the activities and support the charity provides for people living with dementia in the Warminster and Westbury areas.
“We are so thankful to the Lions for their generous donation. Their support will benefit our members, carers and all who use the club,” said Rachel Hamblin, Community Fundraising Manager.
Warminster Lions President Ros Harrison said, “It’s wonderful to be able to support Beyond Dementia in this way. The Old Silk Works Club is such a valuable resource in the town.”
Beyond Dementia is continuing to raise funds towards the ramp project and welcomes further community support to help complete these essential accessibility improvements.
