Over 40 volunteers joined a community litter pick across Warminster earlier this month, helping to clear streets, parks and public spaces.
The event was part of the Great British Spring Clean, the UK’s biggest mass-action environmental campaign.
“Thank you to the 40 volunteers that took part,” said Councillor Jack Jones, Warminster Town Council’s litter pick champion. “There are so many people in Warminster that care about the local area and the local environment.
“Volunteers and the town council grounds team work hard all year to pick up litter and keep our town looking clean. We thank everyone for their hard work today and throughout the year.”
The event was jointly organised by Sustainable Warminster and Warminster Town Council. Idverde will collect the bags of rubbish gathered.
Cllr Jones is planning another community litter pick in the summer and is calling on anyone who would like to get involved in more regular litter picks to contact him directly. To get in touch, email cllr.jones@warminster-tc.gov.uk.
