Local audiences are invited to experience an intense and gripping night of theatre as Warminster’s Athenaeum Limelight Players bring The Girl on the Train to the stage from 9th to 11th April.
Based on the internationally bestselling novel by Paula Hawkins, the acclaimed stage adaptation transforms the psychological thriller into a powerful live experience. The story follows Rachel Watson, whose daily train journeys and fixation on a seemingly perfect couple take a dark and unexpected turn, pulling her into a dangerous world of obsession, secrets, and shocking revelations.
“This ambitious production features a cast of seven highly talented and experienced amateur actors, each tackling emotionally demanding roles that require precision, depth, and sustained tension,” said Artistic Director, Adela Forestier-Walker.
“Although small in number, the cast faces significant dramatic and technical challenges, including rapid scene changes, complex relationships, and the constant drive to keep audiences on edge.
“The production is directed by Charlotte Case, a professionally trained and experienced producer, director, and actor. Her professional background brings a dynamic and focused approach to rehearsals, pushing the company to explore the psychological intensity of the piece while delivering a polished and compelling performance.”
Speaking about the production, Charlotte said, “Rehearsals started in this month, and in February the excitement really mounts as we are joined for a voice workshop by a Bristol Old Vic alumnus who specialises in training theatre casts to reach peak performance levels.”
Adela added, “Known for its dark themes and intricate storytelling, The Girl on the Train offers audiences a thrilling and immersive night at the theatre. We are confident our experience, commitment, and passion will result in a powerful and memorable production that will captivate and unsettle in equal measure.”
Performances take place from Thursday 9th April to Saturday 11th April at Warminster’s Athenaeum Centre. Tickets are available from www.theath.co.uk.
