A new social motorcycle riding group is being planned for Warminster, offering local bikers the chance to join regular rides throughout the summer.
David Holmyard is looking to set up the group for local riders of any age, with the aim of meeting every two weeks for rides at a steady pace of around 50 to 60 miles per hour.
“I belong to a large bikers group, but this is based in the Melksham area and many of their rides are to the north of Melksham, adding 40 miles to and from Warminster,” said David. “I would like to form a smaller group to meet twice a month, probably at the petrol station on the roundabout at the end of the Warminster bypass. Rides could take place on Sunday mornings or mid-week if sufficient demand. I am retired so either suits me.
“All rides would have a destination, be it a coffee stop or light lunch, and I would aim for about an hour’s ride out and then another hour back. Longer trips could be organised depending on demand.”
Anyone interested in joining the group can contact David on dholmyard@hotmail.co.uk or 07940 513249.
