MS charity member marks 20 years with fundraiser

A member of the Wessex MS Therapy Centre in Warminster has marked 20 years of support from the charity by organising a fundraising tea party.

Paula Carr, who lives with multiple sclerosis (MS), has been using the centre for two decades. She decided to celebrate the milestone by bringing together fellow members, friends and supporters for the event.

The tea party raised £680 to help the centre continue providing specialist therapies, wellbeing services and support for people living with MS and other neurological conditions across the region.

“The MS centre has been such an important part of my life over the last 20 years,” said Paula. “I’ve made wonderful friends here and received so much support, so it felt only right to celebrate the milestone by giving something back. I was overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and I’m so grateful to everyone who helped make the afternoon such a success.”

CEO Rosie Eliot said, “It was a wonderful afternoon filled with friendship, laughter and community spirit. We’re incredibly grateful to Paula, everyone who baked, donated raffle prizes and came along to support the event. Raising £680 is a fantastic achievement and will make a real difference to the people who rely on our services.”

The centre relies heavily on community fundraising to help provide specialist therapies and wellbeing services for people living with MS and other neurological conditions. Fundraising helps bridge gaps in NHS provision and reduce financial barriers for members who require ongoing support.
