The Warminster Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate its 40th concert with a special summer performance this month.
The event will take place on Saturday 18th July at 7.30pm at the Thomas Arnold Hall, Warminster School.
Founder and conductor Amanda Williams said, “When I founded the orchestra in 2004, I simply hoped to create somewhere people could enjoy making wonderful music together. To be celebrating our 40th concert is something I’m incredibly proud of, and it’s all thanks to the dedication of our musicians and the loyal support of our audiences over the years.
“Dances and Destinations is one of those programmes that has something for everyone -music that’s uplifting, colourful, exciting and deeply moving. We’re also honoured to be supporting Evie’s Gift, whose work makes such a profound difference to families at the most difficult moments in their lives. We hope people will come along, enjoy a wonderful evening of music and help us make a real difference.”
The programme brings together music inspired by dance, travel and different cultures, taking listeners on a journey across the globe. Highlights include Saint-Saëns’ Bacchanale, Sibelius’ Finlandia, Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances and Dvořák’s New World Symphony.
