PUPILS at Princecroft Primary School have taken part in regular swimming and water safety lessons at a pop-up pool on the school site.
The pool was installed by PH ActiveEd for their Swim:ED programme, which aims to improve accessibility to the skill and maximise children’s learning time.
Over the course of a term, children from Year 1 to 6 engaged in regular swimming lessons and also learnt essential lifesaving skills to improve their confidence in water safety.
“Swim:ED has been a positive opportunity for children at Princecroft and children have made exceptional progress over the course of 12 lessons,” said PE leader Kathy Dredge. “We have really noticed the benefits of swimming consistently every day and have enjoyed watching the children grow in confidence.
“This experience has not only supported physical development but also boosted self-esteem and teamwork, making it an incredibly valuable addition to our curriculum.”
