Over £11,000 was raised for a Wiltshire charity through a pre-loved clothes sale in a local village.
The sale, which took place at Manor Farm in Longbridge Deverill, raised £11,500 for the Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust. The trust provides a free home security service and online safety service for over-60s, over-18s with a registered disability, and people experiencing domestic abuse throughout Wiltshire and Swindon.
“From raising vital funds for the trust, to promoting sustainability by giving clothes a second life and preventing items from going to landfill, the sale showcased the best of Wiltshire’s community values,” said a spokesperson for the trust.
“This was more than just a fundraiser; it was a feel-good day of fun, fashion and friendship – with a real environmental impact too.”
Any remaining clothes were donated to the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance for sale in their Devizes shop, ensuring every item had a second chance.
“The event was made possible by the dedication of dozens of volunteers, who baked cakes, sorted donations, acted as personal shoppers, and helped create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Special thanks go to Charlie Boston’s band, The Olde Boston Tea Party, whose lively performance brought energy and swing to the event,” said the spokesperson.
The funds raised will go towards Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust’s work providing home security and cyber support to vulnerable people across Wiltshire and Swindon.
