A local estate agency has launched a festive appeal encouraging residents to donate items for families facing hardship this winter.
The Warminster office of Cooper and Tanner is running a ‘reverse advent calendar’ in aid of Warminster Foodbank which started on 22nd November and runs until 15th December. Instead of opening a traditional advent calendar, supporters are invited to contribute goods that will be packed into boxes of 24 items for delivery to the foodbank on 16th December.
A reverse calendar asks participants to set aside one item a day, though the team says donations of any size are welcome. Staff will combine contributions into full boxes ahead of Christmas.
“We’re doing the reverse calendar for the Warminster Foodbank this year to make a real difference for people in need,” said Susan Furber, Lettings Manager at Cooper and Tanner. “Instead of receiving something each day, we’re giving back. By the end of the calendar, we’ll have collected essential items that will help local families. It’s a good way for our community to come together and support those who need it most.”
Essential items requested include long life milk, fruit juice, pasta sauce, tinned vegetables, tinned soup, tinned meat or fish, tinned fruit, rice pudding and custard, squash, coffee, jam, biscuits and snack bars, toiletries and cleaning products. Other goods can be given if their best before date runs past January 2026.
Cooper and Tanner are based at 48‑50 Market Place, Warminster, BA12 9AN. Telephone 01985 219188 for more details.
