Roarminster launches summer programme of events

A summer of dinosaur-themed activities has officially begun in Warminster with the launch of Roarminster, a town-wide trail and events programme for families.

The initiative was launched during the town’s first YouthFest at the Lake Pleasure Grounds on Saturday 11th July, where families enjoyed a range of free activities while finding out about what is on offer for young people in the town.

Throughout the school holidays, residents can explore Warminster to discover different dinosaurs, learn about them, enter a prize draw and take part in a programme of themed events and activities.

A Roarminster shopping loyalty card has also been launched, with a top prize of £500.

Mayor Jack Jones said, “Warminster YouthFest was a brilliant event, with great engagement and lots of fun. It was a fantastic opening to Roarminster. There is a real buzz around the town. We are delighted with the initial feedback and support from local businesses; we can’t wait for a summer of fun with the dinosaur trail and packed events programme.”

YouthFest featured activities including archery, face painting, den building, crockery smashing, pottery painting, a reading area and garden games, alongside free facilities at the Lake Pleasure Grounds including tennis, the splash pad and the skate park.
