The Warminster Lions Christmas Float will start its fundraising journey around the local area next month.
The float is an annual tradition in which Santa, along with a troop of volunteers, travels around the town to raise funds for local charities.
The float will be out between Monday 1st December and Friday 19th December.
“The annual tour here by Santa has long been a much-anticipated event in the lead-up to Christmas,” said Warminster Lion Nick Humpherson.
“It is just one of the many ways in which Warminster Lions Club serves its community, bringing excitement and good cheer to all ages as well as raising funds to support local good causes.”
The Lions will collect donations with buckets, a SumUp machine and a QR code at every stop.
“As the town has expanded over the years it has become increasingly difficult for this hard-working group of volunteers to reach out to every single household. Many residents have fond memories of the days when there would be a knock on the door and a Lion would be there with sweets and a collecting bucket!
“With just 12 evenings available to us this year, we are having to think carefully how best to bring the joy to as many people as possible. Our plan is to identify accessible and safe places to stop so that you can come to us at your closest stopping place. We are also hoping to arrange some daytime static events that you can visit.”
