Skydive challenge raises thousands for MS charity

Local fundraisers have raised thousands of pounds for Warminster’s Wessex MS Therapy Centre by completing a 15,000ft tandem skydive.

Tom Hallett took on the tandem skydive in support of his wife Zoe, who lives with multiple sclerosis and is a member of the centre, while Sandra Head completed the challenge in memory of her mum.

The pair completed the skydive at Go Skydive in Old Sarum, Salisbury, at the end of July, raising almost £5,000 between them to help the charity continue providing specialist therapies and support for people living with multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions.

Tom said, “I absolutely adored the skydive and I’d like to thank everyone at the Wessex MS Therapy Centre for all of the charity’s support.”

Sandra added, “I did the skydive in memory of my mum, and I was only ever going to do it once! I’m so chuffed that I’ve raised such a fantastic amount of money for the centre.”

The pair were supported on the day by the centre’s chief executive Rosie Eliot, who completed a skydive for the charity herself last year.

“Watching them take on such an incredible challenge was inspiring, and we are so grateful for their amazing fundraising efforts,” Rosie said. “Nearly £5,000 is an outstanding achievement and every pound raised will help us continue supporting local people living with MS. We simply can’t thank them enough.”

The Wessex MS Therapy Centre relies on fundraising and donations to continue delivering its specialist services across the region.
