Two new ‘Welcome to Warminster’ planters have been installed in the town centre and filled with flowers by students at Kingdown School.
The town council says the new planters strengthen its commitment to making Warminster an attractive place for visitors and residents, complementing the recent installation of more than 80 hanging baskets around the town.
Situated at the entrance to Market Place, the planters will also act as a barrier to prevent accidental vehicle access, improving pedestrian safety and creating a more secure environment for shoppers.
Sarah Miller from Kingdown School, where students have been working together with the town council, said, “The young people involved in phase one of this collaboration have been absolutely excellent.
“They have worked really hard with the support of the team at the town parks service. They’ve weeded, scrubbed and planted.
“The planters were a real highlight and they showed great creativity and teamwork. They are an absolute credit to their families and the school community and we are very proud of them.”
