As Warminster Town FC prepares for the upcoming 2025/26 season, it’s not just the players who have been putting in the hard work.
Behind the scenes, a dedicated team of volunteers, club members, and supporters have come together to undertake a significant programme of pre-season maintenance, transforming key areas of the club’s Weymouth Street ground.
“From general tidying and weeding to painting, strimming, and essential building repairs, the club has seen a remarkable uplift thanks to the tireless efforts of those who gave up their time to help,” said club Chairman James Stone.
“This community-driven initiative has seen fantastic support from local businesses, with donations of materials and equipment making all the difference. The commitment shown by players, team managers, committee members, and residents alike has been nothing short of outstanding. This sort of community spirit is what grassroots football is all about.”
One of the projects has seen the transformation of the former ‘Pigeon Loft’ storeroom into a fully equipped treatment room. This newly refurbished space will now serve as a dedicated area for the club physio to provide treatment to players on matchdays which James says will mean a vast improvement in player care and another step forward in the club’s commitment to modernising its facilities.
Looking ahead, plans are already in place to modernise the home changing room, improving comfort and usability for the senior teams. Off the pitch, work is also underway to launch a new and improved club website in the coming weeks. The refreshed site will enhance how fans engage with the club, while offering new features, improved navigation and better visibility for news, fixtures, and sponsor promotion.
As part of the club’s long-term development goals, Warminster Town FC is also preparing to increase the number of pitch side sponsorship boards, providing a valuable platform for local businesses to promote themselves to the club’s growing fanbase. The aim is to bring in much-needed finance to the club and further strengthen ties between the club and the local business community.
In the longer term, the club is exploring options to replace the existing perimeter barrier that surrounds the pitch. A new barrier will not only improve the look and safety of the ground but also allow for increased sponsorship visibility and more modern display options.
James added, “It’s been fantastic to see so many people come together to support the club. Whether it’s lifting a paintbrush, donating supplies or simply showing up to help, every contribution has helped make a visible difference. Our new treatment room is a real achievement, and we’re excited about the improvements still to come.
“As the club looks to build both on and off the pitch, this summer’s efforts highlight just how vital community support is to the continued growth and success of the club.”
