Woman abseils one of Britain’s tallest landmarks for Warminster charity

A woman has raised £565 for a Warminster charity by abseiling down Portsmouth’s 170-metre-high Spinnaker Tower.

Rosie Marlow took on the challenge to raise money for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre, inspired by a good friend who lives with multiple sclerosis (MS) and benefits from the specialist support and therapies provided by the centre.

Rosie has previously completed a skydive for the charity.

“We are incredibly grateful to Rosie for choosing to fundraise for the Wessex MS Therapy Centre again,” said fundraising and events coordinator Amanda Strong. “It takes a huge amount of courage to take on a challenge like abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower and knowing that Rosie is doing it to support someone very special to her makes it even more meaningful.”

Rosie recently visited the centre with her dog, Sprout, to see first-hand how her fundraising supports its facilities and services, including the specialist hyperbaric oxygen chamber.

“It was lovely to welcome Rosie and Sprout to the Centre and show Rosie around so she could see exactly where her fundraising goes and the difference it makes to the people who use our services,” said Amanda. “£565 is a fantastic amount and we really can’t thank her enough.”

The Wessex MS Therapy Centre supports local people living with multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. The centre provides a range of specialist therapies, rehabilitation, support and opportunities for people living with MS and their families.
