An inspiring afternoon of talks exploring conservation and sustainability projects both close to home and in Africa is being held in Warminster this weekend.
“From Warminster to Africa: A Showcase of Sustainability and Conservation Projects” will take place on Saturday 8th November, from 1pm to 4pm, at the Wellbeing Hub.
The free event will feature experts sharing their work and research into protecting wildlife, supporting communities and promoting sustainable living. Donations to support the Hub’s work are warmly welcomed.
The line-up includes:
Dr. Charity Chenga, a social scientist and international healthcare professional, presenting The Presence of Harugwa in Zimbabwe.
Iain Perkins, Environmental Engagement and Conservation Officer with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, who will discuss Warminster Plan Bee, a project which aims to improve areas of wildflowers across Warminster to help bees, butterflies and other wildlife.
Matt Wisdom, currently completing doctoral research in primatology at Oxford Brookes University, who will share insights from his studies on The Forests of Madagascar & Facilitated Regeneration by Lemurs.
Amy Darbyshire, co-chair of Sustainable Warminster, who will introduce Warminster Toad Patrol, a community-led effort to protect toads during their annual migration.
“Join us at the Wellbeing Hub for an afternoon of talks linking local and international conservation work, from bees and toads in Warminster to forests and communities in Africa,” said the organisers.
