Local residents can expect a high standard of care when they visit a Warminster opticians and audiologists as the team has clocked up more than 350 years of service between them.
The hugely impressive total has been achieved thanks to the loyalty and dedication of the 27 colleagues who work at the locally owned and run Specsavers in Three Horseshoes Walk. Contact lens optician and store manager, Julie Tavener, marked 30 years with the store last year, while audiology director and hearing aid dispenser, Alison Edwards, and dispensing optician, Vicki Towers, both celebrated 25 years with the business in 2025.
Whether it’s looking after the eyes or ears of the local community, the combined knowledge and expertise throughout the team spans decades. Longest serving are Monica Coles and Patricia Bull, who each have 37 years’ service, through to newer recruits like Samantha Pritchard, who joined a year ago.
“I knew we had a lot of experience across the team, but I was blown away when we realised it was more than 350 years,” said Richard Goring, store director at Specsavers Warminster. “I’m really grateful to have such dedicated, skilled and reliable colleagues.
“The care they show our customers, whether they come to see us for an eye examination or a hearing check, is second to none.”
Julie Tavener added, “I love coming to work and feel like we have a brilliantly supportive team. There’s a few of us who have been with the store for a really long time, so we do our best to help those just starting out in their careers.
“Everyone works hard to make sure that our customers have the best experience when they come in to see us.”
Alison Edwards said, “I originally joined the team on the optics side, before becoming audiology director in 2021. I’m really proud of the more than 25 years I’ve spent working at the store as well as the fact that between us, the team has such a huge collective number of years’ experience.
“We make sure that knowledge is put to good use, and it also means we’ve formed some really strong relationships with customers, many cross-generational, that have been coming to see us since we opened.”
