A former Warminster resident and cricketer has revealed his memories of dressing rooms, pitches, and unforgettable moments from club cricket in a new book.
Andrew Knowles’ new book explores his time with Warminster Cricket Club, as well as at Buxton Cricket Club in Derbyshire.
He said, “18 STONES UP THE HILL is a celebration of the game’s traditions, with an emphasis on the friendships forged and the stories shared. It delves into junior cricket and the rites of passage into the senior elevens, the thrill of the county matches, and the numerous and colourful characters that graced both dressing rooms.”
Andrew organised and went on numerous tours with Warminster Cricket Club. He ended his involvement in club cricket after a final few seasons officiating in the South Yorkshire Cricket League, following a move back north after twelve or so years living in the West Country.
The writer now lives in County Roscommon, Ireland, with his wife, Angela.
18 STONES UP THE HILL is now available from Coates and Parker in Warminster.
