The Warminster-based West Wilts Hockey Club has been named the West Area’s winner of the Emerging Club of the Year award in the England Hockey Awards.
The award recognises the club’s rapid progress and strong commitment to player welfare and inclusivity.
Based at the Land Warfare Army Pitch on the north side of Warminster, the club has undergone a significant transformation over the past season.
“This honour forms part of the England Hockey Awards, which spotlight clubs, volunteers, officials, and players who embody the sport’s values of collaboration, spirit, care and resilience,” said club member Becca Higgs.
“The club’s transformation over the past season has been remarkable, from modernising digital systems, strengthening injury policies and building a safe, inclusive, and forward‑thinking environment for all.
“A huge congratulations to those who have contributed to develop the club this year and all the members.”
The club, founded in 1899, welcomes players from across Wiltshire and beyond and prides itself on its friendly family-oriented community spirit. In runs several adult sides and has an established junior section.
