A local carer has been crowned Carer of the Year at a national care awards event.
Ethan White, a carer from Henford House in Warminster, beat hundreds of other nominees to win the award for the Central Division at the Barchester Care Awards 2025.
The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 13,500 residents living in Barchester’s 267 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Over 5,000 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK.
“It is a great honour to even be nominated, but I’m shocked to have won,” said Ethan. “I love my job and always try to give it my best.”
Ethan recently travelled to the national finals in Manchester, where all winners were celebrated for their outstanding achievements and commitment to providing residents with the best possible lives.
General Manager, Trish Alton, said, “This is an amazing achievement and the whole home is hugely proud and delighted for Ethan. Our residents, their families, and our staff team all contributed to the nomination, and to know that he is being recognised in this way is absolutely fantastic.
“Many residents and families had written about Ethan’s kindness and compassion, and the difference he makes to their lives, as well as sending in stories of how he gone above and beyond when times are challenging for our residents.
“Ethan is a shining example of how important kindness and connection are when supporting others.”
