Fifty years of meetings and community spirit were celebrated last month by Boreham Women’s Institute.
The occasion was marked with a meal cooked by the committee at St John’s Hall.
Boreham WI was set up half a century ago to serve women at the east end of Warminster. Anna Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, was one of the founding members.
“The evening opened with a glass of prosecco for all the guests, followed by the singing of Jerusalem and a short address from our President, Jan,” said member Penny.
Members also enjoyed cake and took part in a quiz organised by Jan.
“The whole evening was very enjoyable and, as several members had provided photographs of past events, plus many copies of programmes from over the years, all these items brought back happy memories to many of our ladies,” Penny added.
Over the years, meetings have been held at St John’s Hall, Dewey House and Warminster Civic Centre.
