A local woman who works at Warminster Sports Centre is taking on a squat challenge to raise funds for a cancer charity in memory of her dad.
Ness O’Neil has been doing 100 squats a day throughout February to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
“I lost my dad to cancer nearly 11 years ago and do a Macmillan coffee morning every year,” said Ness, who works as a receptionist at the sports centre. “This year will be my 13th.
“I saw the challenge on Facebook and thought it would be something extra to help with the charity. I had a shoulder operation in October, so I’m limited to spinning classes at the moment, no upper body exercise, so I thought I would take on the challenge for a little extra as I’m used to doing a lot more than I’m currently doing.
“I might actually continue to do the squats after the challenge is over until I can get back to my normal classes.”
