CCTV coverage at the Lake Pleasure Grounds has been improved, with new cameras installed at the main entrance.
A CIL grant of £5,748 (plus VAT), funded by housing developers’ contributions to local infrastructure, was approved by councillors to pay for the new equipment. The grant will also allow for the Warminster and Westbury CCTV partnership to increase the capacity of the NVR server, the central hub which records and manages video data.
Chair of the Parks and Estate Committee Cllr Stacie Allensby said, “The Warminster and Westbury CCTV partnership provides excellent coverage thanks to continuous advancements in surveillance technology and the commitment of our dedicated CCTV team.
“This investment continues our commitment to keeping the local area covered and sends a message that we remain focused on keep residents and visitors safe in Warminster and in the Lake Pleasure Grounds.”
The CCTV partnership is overseen by a working group of representatives from Warminster Town Council, Westbury Town Council, Wiltshire Council, the Army, Wiltshire Police, West Wilts Trading Estate and local businesses.
