The new chairman of Warminster Town Football Club has vowed to build a “sustainable and successful” future for the club.
James Stone has taken on the role with a clear mission: to modernise the club to ensure it continues to thrive for generations to come.
He said, “Warminster Town FC is a club with a rich history, a passionate supporter base, and a team of tireless volunteers who keep it running. My aim is to build on that foundation and help take the club into the future”.
One of the key priorities for the new chairman is to make Warminster Town a club that attracts and retains the very best local talent and a place where players at every level aspire to be.
The recent formation of a brand-new U18s team is a huge step forward in creating that vision – opening doors for young players to progress into senior football.
As the club looks ahead, there are also strong aspirations for both the First Team and Reserve Team to push for top-table finishes.
James added, “Our coaching and management staff are truly the backbone of each team. Their commitment to grassroots football is outstanding and deserves real recognition.
“Our players – across all three adult teams – show incredible passion and effort week in, week out. As chairman, I want to ensure we do more to celebrate that and give them a club they are proud to represent.”
James also extended his thanks to current and former committee members who have worked tirelessly over the years to keep the club running.
Warminster Town FC – which dates back to 1878 – is now actively seeking local sponsorship to support critical improvements such as clubhouse repairs, pitch barrier replacement and a revamp of digital platforms.
Looking ahead, the club also wants to strengthen its role in the wider community and work closely with schools, local organisations, supporters and Warminster Town Council.
James added, “We’re calling on local businesses to partner with us. Sponsorship is more than just advertising – it’s a way to give back to the town and be part of something that really matters to local people.
“We want Warminster Town FC to be more than just a football club – we want it to be a central part of the community, a place of pride, connection and ambition.
“Our plans will take time, funding, and the ongoing support of everyone involved – from volunteers and players to sponsors, supporters, and the wider community. This isn’t a one-person job – it’s a collective effort to take Warminster Town FC into a sustainable, successful future.”
