An exciting array of writers have been confirmed for this year’s Warminster Book Festival.
The free weekend event will see creative talent come to the town to inspire book lovers of all ages. Talks, workshops, and competitions are all in the works for this year’s festival.
Venues include Warminster Library, the Wellbeing Hub, the Civic Centre, the Masonic Hall and St Lawrence Chapel.
For adults, events include a talk on psychological thrillers by Stuart James, a discussion of steamy romances by Kate Pearce, and a deep dive into historical fiction with JP Reedman.
Mark Tanner and Richard Collis are also set to appear in dedicated events for young adults.
Paula and Mark Thorpe, organisers of the festival, said, “With seven weeks to go until the 2025 Warminster Book Festival, there is a heightened sense of anticipation from those taking part. Flyers announcing the locations and speakers for Saturday 7th June are already in circulation, and each household will receive their own copy in the 8th May Warminster Journal.
“A detailed brochure will be available in early May, providing a synopsis of each author and their talks. From body snatchers helping modern surgeons, to sleep meditation for your child, throw in a tennis champion who evades Nazi Germany, and black comedy and romantic fiction, and this surely offers something for all tastes. Meanwhile, Richard Collis – a writer of young adult fiction – is ‘delighted’ to be coming to our festival to talk about his books, ‘The Pool’ and ‘Wolf Mother.’”
The Warminster Book Festival is a free weekend event for the whole family. There is still time to submit creative writing entries for the free competition for adults and young adults, as previously reported in the Warminster Journal.
Details are available on social media and online. All entries can be sent to warminsterbookfestival@gmail.com for a chance to win one of three prizes in each category.
Three exciting workshops will take place at the Warminster Civic Centre on Sunday 8th June. Visit warminsterbookfestival.co.uk to book your places and get involved.
