A music concert has been held at Princecroft Primary School to showcase pupils’ creative talent.
The performance highlighted the success of the school’s headteacher, deputy headteacher and visiting music teacher to bring more music-learning opportunities to classes.
Children have had the chance to learn violin, piano and drums in recent months.
Glenn Hampson, deputy headteacher, said, “We’ve been able to offer an instrument-teaching service at Princecroft this year, with staff running piano, violin and drum lessons for children.
“Wednesday afternoon saw the first showcase, where families came to see the amazing progress our children have made across the school.
“About 30 children performed pieces they had been working towards, and we also enabled students who access private lessons both inside and outside school the chance to perform.
“The event was really successful, and something we hope to be able to offer again in the future now that our instrument teaching has become more embedded.
“We are hugely passionate as a school about music and are always revising our offer for the children.”
