BBC Radio 4’s Any Questions? was broadcast live recently from a packed-out Warminster Civic Centre.
Alex Forsyth presented a lively political debate alongside Labour MP Chris Curtis, chair of the Labour Growth Group; journalist, broadcaster and campaigner Mariella Frostrup; Conservative MP and former education secretary Damian Hinds; and director of the Popular Conservatism campaign group Mark Littlewood on Friday 22nd May.
Questions put to the panel covered topics such as immigration levels, tech support for older people, the cost-of-living crisis and teaching young men accountability following the Fordingbridge rape ruling.
“It was brilliant to welcome the BBC team to Warminster and have a selection of brilliant questions from a local audience,” said a Warminster Town Council spokesperson. “The event was a huge success and well attended.”
Cllr Andrew Davis, who previously attended a recording of Any Questions? at the Warminster Athenaeum when it was hosted by Jonathan Dimbleby, said, “As an event goes, I thought it was a good mix of people. I thought the questions were very good and the answers I heard from the panel were excellent.
“It was one of those things where everybody will go away happy. They can go home and listen again on the radio or on BBC Sounds if they want to.”
