A new initiative has been launched in the town to encourage residents to ditch single-use cups.
The environmental campaign, launched by Warminster Town Council, highlights local venues that welcome the use of reusable cups.
Participating businesses will display a poster to show they are part of the initiative, actively encouraging residents to think twice about using a single-use cup and instead opt for reusable ones.
A Warminster Town Council spokesperson said, “The town council has teamed up with local independent cafés and eateries to launch a reusable cup scheme. This initiative aims to encourage the community to reduce waste by ditching single-use cups and embracing reusable ones.
“With seven million single-use paper cups being thrown away each day in the UK, the town is taking a proactive step to promote sustainability and support eco-conscious businesses.
“As a town, we’re keen to encourage the community to do their bit to help reduce waste by bringing their own reusable cup when purchasing a drink. Every reusable cup will help cut down on single-use waste.”
The list of participating venues includes: Civic Centre Coffee Bar, Cornmarket Café, Courtyard Café, Pronti Buon Appetito, Taste Deli, The Coffee Garden, and The Pavilion Café.
