Warminster Rugby Football Club brought the curtain down on a memorable 2025/26 campaign with their annual end-of-season presentation evening at their Folly Lane headquarters.
The celebratory night united players, committee members, and loyal supporters to reflect on a year of fierce competition, growth and transition for the Amber and Blues.
Club Chairman Robert Rowbotham opened the evening with a heartfelt thank you to the dedicated community that anchors the club. He offered special praise to the unsung heroes – the squad members whose names might not be on the trophies but whose relentless commitment drove the club’s success.
Following the Chairman, Club Captain Haydn Tryhorn took the floor to review the year’s achievements. Haydn highlighted significant development across the board, noting that Warminster RFC experienced major growth both on and off the pitch within the senior squads and across all club sections.
The night’s top playing honours were dominated by two standout names, with Alex Geddes securing a remarkable awards treble. He shared the prestigious Players’ Player of the Year accolade with Tom Atkinson, before safely securing the Coaches’ Player of the Year award. Alex capped off a stellar night by also collecting the Eve Jenkins VP Player of the Season trophy.
Tom added to his shared top prize by claiming the Best Newcomer award following an impressive debut season at Folly Lane. Among the other individual accolades, Archie Osmond was named Most Improved Player, while Gavin Kaminsky Pratt took home the Top Points Scorer award.
For his tireless work steering the club throughout the year, Chairman Robert Rowbotham was deservingly named Club Person of the Year.
The evening struck an emotional chord as the club bid farewell to key figures on and off the field. Club stalwart Stephen Rowbotham officially celebrated his retirement after playing his final game, ending his playing days on a high by picking up both the Top Try Scorer award and the Fish Award for the season’s most memorable moment.
Significant change is also coming to the dugout ahead of next season. Warminster RFC announced the departure of a large portion of this year’s coaching team, with influential coaches Aimi Dallyn and Marc Hook both moving on to pastures new.
Club officials extended massive gratitude to all player and kit sponsors, alongside the tireless volunteers in the kitchen and behind the bar who keep Folly Lane running week in, week out.
Following the formalities, the evening continued into the early hours with food provided by Paul Mulholland from Scran and the Cookhouse. Music was provided by Chalkieokie. It was a well-deserved opportunity for everyone at the club to let their hair down and celebrate after what has been a great year of hard work.
While the league matches have concluded, attention now turns to the off-season. Walking Rugby continues at the club every Saturday morning, and members are reminded that the club’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) is scheduled for Friday, July 10th. The club will also be carrying out several maintenance and cleaning days over the coming months.
