Detached youth work in Warminster has contributed to a significant decrease in youth anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the town.
The work, carried out by the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT), involves officers engaging with young people in public spaces.
There were just 13 reports of ASB in Warminster in December 2025, compared to 30 in December 2024. In November, there were 12 reports, down from 28 in November 2024, and in October there were 10 reports, down from 27 the previous year.
“We did a lot of work around youth ASB,” said Inspector Lou Oakley from the NPT. “We had detached youth work funded in Warminster, and I do think it has played a big part in reducing some of these figures. There’s been other work as well, and we’ve done a lot with our schools, but I do think it has had a real impact.
“We did a lot of work last year and the year before around ASB, so we’ve got a really good grip of it at the moment.”
The team will continue to work with the detached youth workers and schools in the area to target youth ASB.
