Imperial Charity has awarded a grant of £2,000 to The Avenue Primary School in Warminster to enhance the indoor and outdoor sensory spaces within the school’s Resource Base.
The Resource Base consists of two classes, with 28 pupils who have complex needs and whose academic or personal development is currently significantly behind their chronological age.
The facilities purchased have transformed spaces used for informal, play-based learning, with a range of interactive equipment for the children to enjoy.
Steve Pope, business and charity manager at Imperial Charity, said, “It is a pleasure to be able to support The Avenue Primary School in enhancing the facilities available to their Resource Base.
“Supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is an important part of our charitable purpose, and the new spaces look like great fun.”
Alyce Stewart, Resource Base lead at The Avenue Primary School, added, “We are extremely grateful for this grant, which has enabled us to significantly enhance the sensory learning experiences within our Resource Base.
“The children are already thriving, showing increased engagement and meaningful interactions with the new resources. This support is making a real difference in their development and daily experiences.”
