Warminster Bowling Club has bowled its way to glory, winning the prestigious Nor-West Gala 2025 held at North Wilts Bowling Club on 2nd July.
The annual tournament sees clubs from across North and West Wiltshire competing, and Warminster emerged victorious after an all-day contest under the summer sun.
The winning trio – Eira Church, Sue Bohana and Ruth Gerrish – won all three of their group games to reach the final, before clinching the title in style with a resounding 9-1 victory.
Back at the club, members are enjoying successful season. Strong performances across all teams mean that Warminster is riding high in several league tables.
The club’s open day welcomed a wave of enthusiastic new members who came to “give bowling a try” while a recent highlight of the social calendar was Captain Sue’s Day which saw 60 members and their families don red and white outfits for a fun-filled afternoon.
“Our green is looking amazing thanks to the hard work and efforts by a dedicated group led by David to assist in the installation of new sprinklers,” said the club. “Kate’s garden is much admired by visiting teams and so much appreciated by us all.
“The club is the most friendly place; do join us to watch the Lions matches; bacon buns and sausage rolls will be on offer!”
