Volunteers are needed to support Warminster’s Fitness and Friendship Club which offers older people a chance to make connections whilst enjoying gentle exercise.
The club runs fortnightly sessions every Tuesday from 2pm until 4pm at Warminster Civic Centre. The next session will take place on Tuesday 9th June.
The volunteer role is varied and can involve a range of activities such as setting up the room ready for the session, clearing the room after the session, welcoming club members, assisting members to participate in activities and conversation, accepting payments, making and serving refreshments or helping to promote the club in the local community. Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.
“Giving just a few hours can make a real difference to the wellbeing of older people in Warminster,” said a spokesperson from Age UK Wiltshire which runs the sessions.
